Enemy Imagesterm used by Marshall Rosenberg - if he found it elsewhere, he most certainly focused the rigor within it through his distinction between strategy and need…

For human beings, conflict exists only at the level of strategy - meanwhile, human needs are universal.

Unless I distinguish my strategy from my need, I will treat my strategy as if it’s my need.

Mistaking my strategy for the need, I can believe that others who don’t like my strategy are ‘against my need’ - since my needs are my connection to life, these others will occur to me as enemies.
